Invisalign (Clear Aligners)

Clear aligners:

It is one of the most commonly used orthodontic treatment techniques today. In this system, metal or porcelain appliances called brackets are not bonded to the teeth; instead, the treatment is planned using digital technologies, the patient and doctor approve the final plan, and then clear aligners are prepared to gradually move the teeth according to the treatment plan. These aligners are replaced under the supervision of the orthodontist and at the intervals they deem appropriate for you, thereby facilitating tooth movement. You must wear these clear aligners for an average of 20–22 hours a day; if you stop wearing them for any reason, the treatment schedule will be disrupted, and the subsequent aligners will become unusable.

While conventional braces require regular check-ups with your dentist, this type of treatment relies heavily on self-discipline and strict adherence to the treatment regimen. It offers significant aesthetic advantages; the aligners are virtually invisible, and if used properly, you’ll need to visit your dentist much less frequently. The results are predictable and highly successful. On the other hand, since the aligners block the flow of saliva over the teeth, the mouth’s natural self-cleaning ability is reduced, requiring careful oral hygiene. During this treatment, tiny tooth-colored (composite) additions are placed on your teeth, and tooth movement is achieved through these additions. At the end of treatment, these additions are easily removed without damaging the teeth.
