Composite fillings, used to repair teeth that are decayed, broken, or otherwise deformed, eliminate aesthetic concerns because they match the color of the teeth. Successfully applied to both front and back teeth, composite fillings are important for closing gaps between teeth and strengthening them.
These fillings are applied layer by layer to the prepared cavities, and each layer is cured with a special light. They are both aesthetic and cost-effective. Since they adhere to the tooth using a special adhesive called bonding, they do not cause unnecessary loss of tooth structure. Because there may be some shrinkage albeit minimal during the curing process, their lifespan is not as long as that of porcelain fillings. However, composite fillings are also indicated in cases where there is minimal tooth damage.
