Gum Recession
As a result of receding gums, some teeth may appear very long, with their root surfaces exposed. In such cases, gum treatment should be performed first to close these gaps using soft tissue grafts.
Irregular gum lines (Gum Reshaping):
The gums surrounding the teeth may be positioned too high or too low on some teeth due to causes such as gum recession, eruption disorders, or defects resulting from tooth loss. Before any aesthetic procedure, the shape of the gums must be corrected to achieve an ideal appearance. Thanks to the use of electrocautery and soft-tissue lasers, which simplify surgical procedures and ensure hemostasis (immediate cessation of bleeding), irregular gum margins can be corrected without compromising biological margins. Since a significant part of aesthetics depends on the gums surrounding the teeth having an ideal shape, these minor adjustments will ensure a much more successful outcome.
Crown Lengthening Surgery
This procedure is performed to lengthen the visible portions of the teeth (the parts visible inside the mouth) that extend above the gum line. In some cases, decay or a fracture extends below the gum line, or the teeth are too short and need to be lengthened. In other cases, the gums may be overly visible when the patient smiles; in such situations, it is necessary to extend the gum line toward the root to ensure the retention of prosthetic treatments (such as crowns or bridges), maintain gum health, and achieve an aesthetically pleasing result.
