Teeth Clenching, Grinding, and Joint Disorders

Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Treatment:

TMJ disorders are dysfunctions observed in joint operations as a result of intra-articular or extra-articular pathologies. Following clinical and radiographic examinations, a custom-made protective stabilization splint treatment is applied to patients diagnosed with TMJ disorders at our clinic. These oral stabilization splints are crafted to alleviate the symptoms of bruxism and joint disorders, and they are used throughout the specified treatment period.

Bite-Guard:

Bruxism is a very common habit in our society. In cases involving conditions such as wear on the teeth and fractures in restorations (especially on the anterior teeth), grinding noises audible during sleep, pain in the facial muscles and the joint area, clicking or popping sounds in the joint during opening and closing, headaches, tooth mobility, spacing, and sensitivity, the appropriate treatment method is a hard stabilization splint, namely a bite-guard, with an average thickness of 1–1.5 mm to be worn during sleep at night.
